Was browsing through Design*Sponge today and came across this post about designer Reiko Kaneko . BEHOLD…..
Sometimes I need tunes to dance to when I want the convertible top down on my baby blue VW…other times it’s so dang hot I need a sweet melody to accompany an ice cold limeade. The following 10 songs fit the bill. I’m loving them soooo much right now:
- Young Adult Friction ~ The Pains of Being Pure At Heart
- Help, I’m Alive ~ Metric
- Sea of Love ~ Cat Power
- French Navy ~ Camera Obscura
- Nantes ~ Beirut
- Kids ~ MGMT
- Hysteric ~ Yeah Yeah Yeahs
- Feel The Love ~ Cut Copy
- Why Do You Let Me Stay Here? ~ She & Him
- Lisztomania ~ Phoenix
Going here…

Ahhhh Yayer! 5th season of So You Think You Can Dance starts tonight!!!
(Yes, that’s yours truly on the far left from many moons ago)
Congrats to Brenden & Shannon’s Charm & Character, winners of both the Tiny Division bracket and overall grand prize in Apartment Therapy’s 5th Annual Smallest Coolest Home Contest (sponsored by Room & Board). Their place in San Francisco perfectly combines mid-century pieces with quirky flea market finds. The low-profile furniture choices encourages natural light to enter, creating depth and illusion of size despite its diminutive 478 sq ft.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Teeny-Tiny Division winner and grand prize finalist, Kevin’s Triple Threat. Space planning is so smartly done in this 210 sq ft stuido in NYC’s Upper West Side.
My sister, Jackie has a penchant for hair pieces, extensions, clip-on ponytails, etc….she used to have quite a collection…I dubbed them her stable of ponies. When I stumbled upon these unneccesary but hilariously lovable images taken by Australian photography, Julian Wolkenstein, I was full of sinister glee imagining equine revenge on her wigs.
These would be great conversation pieces for the home. Does anyone know where I can get quality reprints?
